CHINESE HERBS: Your 101 Guide To Top 10 Chinese Herbs That Clear Up Your Skin And Restore Natural Glow

Learn how skin and body are interconnected, how to identify your body type, and which Chinese herbs are good for your skin and body type.

This book shares the ten Chinese herbs that can heal, clear up and brighten up the skin. But you will walk away with more than that. By the end, you will also learn that it is not just about Chinese herbs, nor is it only about beautifying your skin. Most importantly, you will be able to more effectively understand more about your own body and how to improve your overall health by the time you finish this book.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been emphasizing holistic healing for more than 5,000 years. It believes that your skin is closely connected with your innate organs. So, whatever is going on inside the body will be eventually reflected on your skin. Therefore, Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that, to treat skin problems, one should start from healing the body.

Then, here comes the question: how do you heal the body? And my question for you is: do you know your body enough?

In fact, you are unique just as your body is unique. Before seeking what herbs or other remedies to take to heal the skin and body, you should instead find answers for what kinds of body type you are having, or how your body is unique. This is crucial because it leads to what kinds of Chinese herbs or other foods can benefit you. The truth is, the fact that one specific herb can heal the other person does not necessarily mean it can also heal your skin, since everyone’s body constitution is different and should be treated differently. This book includes a self-assessment sheet, recognized by China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CACM), with 67 simple questions to guide you throughout the evaluation process. With that, in less than three minutes, you will be able to effectively and efficiently know in what way your body is special and what constitution your body belongs to.

Besides, this book helps you position Chinese herbs correctly in the big picture called Traditional Chinese Medicine. It helps you understand that, no matter how effective Chinese herbs are to your skin and body, you should always remember to also incorporate fundamental practices recommended by TCM, such as a balanced dietary routine and improving your lifestyle. As always, you should build yourself a system with a holistic approach instead of just replying on consuming Chinese herbs for a quick fix. That’s why this book also shares with you basic dietary fundamentals you should start introducing in the daily life before or as you try Chinese herbs.

In the end, when you understand your own body, set up a good dietary foundation to begin your journey and choose the right kinds of Chinese herbs, you will naturally enjoy better skin and health.

What You'll Learn Specially

I am very excited to be the first reviewer here!
I first got exposed to Tracy over at her blog and I was very satisfied with the quality of information she presents there. This is why I was very excited when I saw she wrote a book on TCM. I ordered it straight away. I am a big believer in holistic medicine. I do know the basics of Ayurveda but TCM is quite new to me. At first I thought it would be complicated, but the way Tracy explains it, it’s actually easy and makes sense. The first part of the book (about 30%) is more theory to get you introduced, but don’t worry, it’s easy to get and very absorbing. Then, there is the practical part. You will also find the recipes that the author uses herself. If you are looking for a quality book, you have just found one. When it comes to TCM, I prefer to learn from Chinese natives who know their stuff, and Tracy Huang is one of them!
The book also includes a free bonus which is an assessment of your body type ( something that in ayurveda is called dosha, but now I am more interested in TCM than ayurveda, lol!). I am satisfied with this order, very satisfied.

First of all, I want to make it clear that I am by no means an expert on chinese herbs (or any other herbs for that matter). However, that being said, I still feel very confident when saying that this is truly a invaluable resource, containing a wealth of information, on so many levels.

The book rests on the solid and ancient tradition of traditional Chinese medicin, a 5,000 year old tradition emphasizing holistic healing. What this means, in this case, is that whatever is going on with us internally, will ultimately manifest itself in our skin. The reason for this is becuase our skin is so closely linked to our innermost organs. The author offers a lucid understanding of how Chinese herbs can heal, clear up and brighten up our skin. More specifically, we are given a solid explanation of ten particular herbs that can do wonders for the quality of our skin.

However, in actuality, this book goes above and beyond any skin-related issues that you may be experiencing; it delves so much deeper – to the heart of it all. This is because in order for you to be able to effectively treat and nourish your skin, you first have to know your own body. You have to become acutely aware of your own true being, of what makes it tick, and of what clogs up your pores so to speak. In this regard, the author has just set herself apart from the rest of the competition by miles and miles. Cause not only do we as readers get a solid understanding about what can be done herb-wise to better the condition of our skin, but more importantly, we are given the gift of getting to know our bodies (perhaps for the first time).

One passage that I particularly enjoyed was one in which the author posed an intriguing concept in response to a common skin-related question. When answering the question on how we should go about improving our skin, the author implies that before we can answer that question, we first have to ask ourselves if we really know our bodies well enough. Fascinating! So simple, yet so easily overlooked.

ANother thing that I really appreciated in reading this book, was the fact that we need to consider, not only herbs pertaining to our skin, but at the same time we also have to apply a balanced dietary routine and work on improving our overall lifestyles. The underlying message is clear: Chinese medicine carry with them tremendous benefits, but they are by no means a quick-fix. And this is because we, as human beings, are not a quick-fix. It takes considerable time and effort in order to get to know ourselves; the ins and outs of out bodies and minds, but along with that time and effort come great results.

I would recommend this book to anyone out there who are interested in improving, not only their skin, but themselves, on so many levels. All in all, a delightful read!

Read Tracy Huang’s book on “Chinese Herbs – Your 101 Guild to top 10 Chinese Herbs…” from line to line and found there are so many valuable points that will benefit not just your skin, but also your body and health in general. It is truly an amazing book that can be used to guide what you eat and your lifestyle. I am quite familiar with the herbal food and herbs mentioned in the book, but I may not know why and when I need them. After reading the book, I know how to have or eat the herbal food in a smart way. The herbal food in five tastes sum up in the book can be a quick tip for us to obtain a balanced body condition – “sour and astringent flavors can stop the excessive secretion of sweet and oil in the skin; sweet-tasting herbs nourish the skin and can rectify deficiency conditions that cause drying or wrinkles; bitter-tasting herbs can clear away heat and toxins from the body and skin and effectively treat rashes and acne; pungent-tasting herbs help with energy and blood circulation that can clear up blockages that cause skin rashes and dark spots; well, a bland taste can stop water retention and relieve puffiness…” I also totally agree that Traditional Chinese Medicine has the philosophy in it because “maintaining the balance and harmony among mind, body and the circulation of qi is required for optimal health.” Based on tons of searches and reference collections, this book is very informative and educational by introducing us the top 10 Chinese herbs that could directly improve our skin tone from inside out. Many valuable points there in the book. Read for yourself and find out what can benefit for your health conditions. – Jackie Yang
